Believe

Autism alarms people too much, and it makes them do wrong things to kids.

Doing therapy every day for years is eminent awful.  It is not helpful at all.  It would be more helpful to play with mom, and go on trips to the park or the zoo.

Giving autistic kids a way to communicate in a way that isn’t hard for them is most valuable. Speech is often too hard because autism won’t cooperate. Making kids talk causes stress, and heartache, and feelings of inadequacy.  Guilt can eminent eat someone alive over not talking.

In therapy time, rewards are given for good behavior when there’s no control over how autism cooperates. It can be different levels of cooperation day to day or minute to minute.

Finding what helps autism is easy when you remember that doors open when you believe in kids abilities, not only see what’s lacking.
